The Gaffer is the head electrician on a film set. They are responsible for the lighting and power needs of the production. This includes setting up and maintaining the lights, generators, and other electrical equipment.
The Gaffer also works closely with the Director of Photography to ensure that the lighting meets their vision for the film. In addition to their technical expertise, Gaffers must also be able to work well under pressure and coordinate with other members of the crew. As a result, they play a vital role in ensuring that a film production runs smoothly.
