One person. A laptop. Some ideas.
I'm Brad. I make films (when I can) and build software (more often). This site started as a blog, a place to write about the filmmaking stuff I had on mind. Over time, I kept running into the same problem: the tools available for indie filmmakers either cost too much, don't work how you'd like them to, or feel like they were built for productions way bigger than mine.
So I started building my own.
What it is
Right now, Filmmaker Tools is a small collection of production tools — call sheets, scheduling, budgeting, project management. The kind of stuff you'd otherwise be doing in spreadsheets and group chats.
It's not trying to compete with the big production software. It's for people like me: filmmakers working on small projects who need something simple that actually works.
I'm building this in the open, one feature at a time, based on what's actually useful. If you have thoughts, I'm listening.
What it isn't
This isn't a startup with funding and a roadmap and a "vision." There's no team. No investors. No office.
It's just me, working on something I wish existed. If it helps other filmmakers, great. If it turns into something bigger someday, cool. But right now, it's a side project that I take seriously.

If you want to say hi, report a bug, or tell me what's broken you can use the contact form — I read everything.
Thanks for being here. Seriously.

We're in beta. If you want to help us figure out what works, we'd like that.
